What are the components of a Profile LED Housing?
When an aluminum profile is combined with different components and an LED bar, it becomes a linear LED light. Let's talk about the profile components below:
- Main Body: The main body of the profile is made of aluminum. The housing contains the LED strip. There are also rails for the diffuser, side panels, and mounting feet. The profile is designed for surface mounting. The space remaining at the bottom allows you to conceal both the power and data cables, as well as the mounting hardware.
- Diffuser Cover: It is a light-diffusing cover. Thanks to its light-directing and refracting properties, it provides homogeneous lighting. It also serves as a protective cover for LEDs. Made from hard plastic, this part is impact-resistant and will not yellow in sunlight.
- Side Covers: The side covers attached to the beginning and end of the profile provide continuity. The opaque covers allow a certain amount of light to pass through. This allows you to obtain uninterrupted linear light. Profiles mounted side-by-side also transmit light.
- Mounting Accessories: The mounting brackets, also made of aluminum, are attached to the surface with screws or a strong silicone adhesive. Then, the linear LED profile is attached to this bracket using a snap-on method. Since the mounting brackets are hidden in the lower channel within the profile, you achieve a perfect surface-mounted application.
